The amount of traffic on Willow and Western is a safety issue. Parents please use the Drop Off Zone when bringing your kids in the morning. The parking lot at Cherryland is for STAFF ONLY, and should not be used for dropping off or picking up your children. Often staff can't find parking because unauthorized vehicles are parked in the parking lot. Only parents with disabled placecards should park in the designated disable parking spaces. Please stop at the crosswalks to allow students and parents who walk to school to arrive safely, drive slowly, and be patient. If you wish to avoid traffic, the cafeteria is open as early as 7:30am and your children can come eat breakfast. Traffic is only a problem from 7:45-8:00am, come early and beat the rush. Many people continue to make left turns out of the drop off zone, which is illegal and creates worse traffic. PLEASE TURN RIGHT WHEN LEAVING THE DROP OFF PARKING LOT. Alameda County Sherriff's Department will begin enforcing the traffic laws if people continue to ignore the law. Alameda County BookmobileCherryland School is lucky enough to have the Alameda County Bookmobile come to its campus every other Thursday, from 2:25-3:15, beginning September 20, 2012. Applications for an Alameda County Library Card can be found on the bulletin board outside the Cherryland Library (room 11). Go check out books, DVDs. and CDs. For more information you can go to their website www.aclibrary.org, or reach them by telephone at (510) 745-1477
Cherryland V I P sEvery 2 weeks 3 or 4 Cherryland employees are picked at random to be our VIPs (Very Important People). Their names and pictures are put up on a bulletin board in the Main Hallway. STUDENT OF THE MONTHEvery month 2 students are named student of the month for each classroom. Their Student of the Month Certificate and their pictures are displayed in the Main hallway for all to see. It's fun to see the children showing their parents how proud they are of their certificates. |
